About Peter Mt. Shasta
Teachings Given to Peter Mt. Shasta by the Ascended Masters

Peter Mt. Shasta was given his name by the Ascended Master Saint Germain, who appeared before him in physical form in Muir Woods, California, in 1973. He was offered the opportunity to ascend, but after Saint Germain showed him the suffering of humanity, he chose to remain in embodiment in order to be of service. As a result of that decision, he was sent to Mount Shasta, where he trained for several years with Pearl Dorris, former director of the I AM Sanctuary of San Francisco and assistant to Godfre Ray King, founder of the Saint Germain Foundation and author of Unveiled Mysteries. Except for periods of travel and retreat, Peter has continued to live in Mount Shasta.
He is the author of many books, including autobiographical works and spiritual teachings that show how to use I AM Affirmations to bring the teachings of the Ascended Masters into daily life. In recent years, his focus has included bringing the meditative teachings of the Far East into deeper union with I AM consciousness and the realization of the I AM Presence.
Peter’s Spiritual Journey and Travels
Peter grew up an atheist, like both his mother and father. Following the guidance of his scientist father, he resolved not to believe anything he had not proved for himself. He asked God many times to reveal His existence, but did not perceive an answer until the age of 21, when he began practicing hatha yoga. As he felt the energy, or prana, moving through his body, he realized for the first time that there was something beyond physical existence.
After that first class, he went to a bookstore and asked for their best book on yoga. He was handed The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna, where he read: “The mind cannot dwell on God if it is immersed day and night in worldliness... it is most necessary to go into solitude... and think of God... You should withdraw within yourself... and discriminate between the Real and the unreal. God alone is real...” Reading these words was like a light switching on within him.
He also met Swami Brahmananda, who initiated him into a simple yet powerful meditation practice through which he began to experience the Light in the center of his being. From an early age, Peter had observed that wealth did not bring lasting happiness, and now he saw the door to that deeper happiness beginning to open beyond the material world.
Not long afterward, Peter heard Ram Dass, the former Harvard psychology professor, interviewed on the radio. Ram Dass had experienced transcendental consciousness through LSD and, seeking a natural path to that same state, had gone to India, where he met Neem Karoli Baba, who became his guru.
As Peter listened and wondered whether he, too, might have a guru, he experienced a beam of light striking him in the third eye, or ajna chakra, and knew that Maharajji — Ram Dass’s guru — had invited him to come. In 1971, he left for India and began a series of journeys that would take him there many times, and later to Tibet, in search of deeper experiences of God Consciousness.
During these years, he also met Sathya Sai Baba, Anandamayi Ma, and many other yogis and enlightened beings known for their spiritual awareness and extraordinary abilities.
