The Rainbow Body: Padmasambhava, the I AM Presence, and Ascension

Dear Friends,

I am grateful for all the kind replies I received to my previous newsletter sent a few days ago. No, I have not abandoned the I AM Teachings. However, seeing how many people simply do affirmations from the human mind using willpower, I felt compelled to give a mantra meditation practice that enables sincere practitioners to enter the Great Silence from which all manifestation occurs.

Here is a picture of Padmasambhava ascending or, as they say in Tibet, entering the Rainbow Body (Jalus: Tibetan). You see above him his I AM Presence (Amitabha Buddha, the Buddha of Infinite Light. On the left is his manifestation as Discriminating Intelligence, holding the sword of truth that cuts through the knot of ignorance. On his right he manifests a wrathful aspect, not human anger, but a confrontational energy which shows people their errors and drives them to awaken from ignorance. This is not the enlightened yogi in a cave who only experiences bliss and says that everything is fine, but someone engaged in mastery in the world. In the lower left corner is Green Tara, the Goddess who emanates compassion and grants swift protection. She represents enlightened activity, your guru nature working as a Master in the world. Again, you see the rainbow rays emanating from Padmasambhava’s heart center, as well as the rays emanating from his enlightened mind.

I have enclosed a photo below of the XVI Karmapa during a Black Crown Ceremony, showing him invoking this process. The upper part of his body is partially transparent. This photo was taken in San Francisco in the 1970s, before photoshop. I also knew someone who was there. It was taken by an elderly woman who did not know cameras were not permitted during the sacred event.
